Rules and Regulations

• Maximum of 10 and Minimum of 3 participants per team.

• Time limit: 15 minutes + 3 minutes set-up time.

• Participating teams are required to register at the venue.

• Registration will be confirmed only after receiving the confirmation letter.

• Registration is On the Spot.

• Teams are permitted to perform in the language of their choice.

• No electric instruments permitted apart from bass and electric guitar (clean). Keyboards are permitted only on piano patch.

• Members of the team need not necessarily be from the same college (but in this case the colleges in consideration won’t receive any points).

• A team manager is requested to be present near sound engineer  5 minutes before the performance of the team so as to ensure proper sound levelling.

• Instruments other than drums (standard 5-piece drum kit) will not be provided.

• The same person cannot be part of two participating teams.

• All music should be played live on stage.

Good with songs but not good at singing? The good news, the latter is not a criteria we're interested in. The bad news, the former is just a prerequisite to compete. If you are able to recollect the right song at the right time, then you've come to the right place.

• Participants are requested to sing a kirthana preferably of khana ragas (eg.bhairavi, thodi, kamboji etc.) instead of tukadas or light ragas (eg.ranjini, sindhubhairavi etc).

• Participants cannot sing more than one kirthana and singing of varnam,jathiswaram, swarajathi(except few cases like Kamakshi) shall not be entertained.

• Due credit will be given for singing of raga, neraval and swara for the kirthana.

• Decision of judges will be final.

• Participants are not supposed to bring accompaniments along with them other than shruthi box.

• No accompaniments(including shruthi box) will not be provided.

• A combination of riffs and solos can be played.      
• Solos of famous songs can be played.                
• Basic drum beats will be provided as a background.
• Tempo can be altered at request.
